about

here's a bunch of unused tracks, dating from maybe as early as 2015 or -6, to early 2019.

"holding my breath" is maybe the first song i wrote consisting of a standard structure, although that has nothing to do with the recording date. the obviously embittered "snakes and ladders" may be the earliest recording but i am not very clear on a lot of these, timewise.

some of these were on soundcloud, youtube, in my friends' inboxes, most of them nowhere, strays, lost dogs (though not incl. the song 'a lost dog'), some of which i think i really should have put on an album, some that wouldn't have fit and also including many fragmentary ideas suffering arrested development, garbled takes, interminable dirges, bizarrely fluctuating volume levels, a song perhaps mic'd from inside a guitar, ignoble failures, drunken embarrassments, lofi flotsam, retrospectively regrettable angst i can't even defend as literal juvenilia, three songs written especially for friends, two songs wherein the metronome is audible, & a cover.

i think anyone who likes what i do will find at least one or two somethings they like although i've made it rough on you. poke around, get wet...
